Hey! It’s Sophia again and it’s been a while since I’ve posted an article about natural remedies, because after all, the name of this website is Remedial Supply… right!?
For those of you who have been keeping busy gardening during these times, if you are not growing this one plant which I am about to reveal, you are missing out on all the nutritional benefits it can provide for you!
The plant I’m referring to is: The Haskap Berry Plant!
Also known as “honey berries”, haskap berries originated in Siberia, so they are capable of surviving cold climates, as well as having a higher tolerance to soil acidity. Not only that, they are also disease and pest resistant.1 For those of you living in the northern States and Canada, this is the perfect plant to add to your garden!
Although they are sour tasting, haskap berries have higher levels of anti-oxidants than raspberries and blueberries.2 Because of it’s high anti-oxidant qualities, it is a great addition to mix in your detox smoothies!
Planting and growing haskap berries is a very simple process:
Plant 3 feet apart and make it a little bit deeper than the original nursery container. Water frequently and mulch around the plants to keep the soil evenly moist. In order to grow fruit, it must be pollinated by a neighboring variety of the plant such as a borealis or tundra.3
I hope this short article was helpful so you can reap the benefits of this amazing fruit!
